17. Full House Poker, Eugene, Oregon

Late afternoon, July 21st 2018, I ascended upon Eugene Oregon.  First order of business is to stop at Sundance Natural Grocers to see if I can do something about this goddamn pneumonia aids shit I caught in Vegas that is wrecking havoc on me.  If anyplace has stronger colloidal silver, this would be the place... and lo and behold, they did....  something called the Silver Warrior.. with 70 trace minerals along with the silver... tasted like a bucket of piss after someone hadn't drank any water for 100 years, but whatever.. I would drink someones piss if I knew it was the true anti-VegasAidsVirus.

After a healthy meal, I headed over to Hendricks Park to take a walk, sit on the grass at the Rose Garden, and soak in the energy that was me 20 years ago.  This was a special place I would always come to when I first moved to Oregon, even before the birth of my daughter.  But it was also a place I would bring her and the family when she was a baby....  better versions of myself than the current loser.  Environment is a trigger for me.. seeing and being in a place that brings me back to an era or time... there is a hope that I will allow that frequency to distrupt the hardened exterior of what I am today and bring me back to an energy that has as much hope and belief as I used to have.

Full House Poker is a beautiful room by appearance in downtown Eugene.  They also have well trained dealers from a staff that cares about professionalism.  This doesn't mean that I always agree with them and there ways of doing things, but at least they are consistent and they care.

I was here for Corcheval.... as you all know, my favorite game these days is Pot Limit Big O.. .and you all know that I don't have a bankroll to play for stakes over pennies right now.  Corcheval is a version that exposes one of the cards on the flop before the normal preflop betting round.  This is an advantage for a player like myself, and here is why:   You get dealt A2345 with a suited Ace.  In an normal Big O game, say you get this and someone raises preflop... of course you will call to see a flop at the least.  But in this game, say the King of Diamonds comes as that first card on the flop.... you have Ace high spade draw with the wheel in your hand... this is a terrible card for your holding... exactly 2 low cards have to follow for the flop to simply give you a low draw.  This is a folding hand for even the minimum ante.
Now, most players don't have the discipline to lay those kinds of hands down REGARDLESS of what the board looks like.... so that is just one more major edge for me in a game like this.

I bought in for my standard $200, and in the first hour I picked up AA455 double suited.. both black suits.  The Window Card was the 2 of spades.  Now here is the beauty of this game... would you rather have my hand?  or the nuts currently.. a set of deuces.  A set of deuces is garbage... its very very hard to improve and have it hold up as the best hand in a game like this.  The A4 alone would give me the second nut low draw at this time.. but having 2 Aces, including the Ace high spades, makes my hand even more valuable.  AA355 would be even better of course, but this was worth a 3 bet in position... and of course the guy with 22 in his hand tried to get it all in with me preflop... and was very disappointed when I made NUT NUT for a double up.

After this hand, I was as card dead as possible for hours and hours..... the window card ALWAYS hurt my hand.. in fact I would say it only helped my hand 4 or 5 times in the entire night.

The Jack of Clubs hit the Window at least 10 of the first 20 hands.  This is interesting because the Jack represents the astrological 6th house of the apprentice.. and clubs as one in the esoteric arts... somewhat like myself and this blog...   finally timing each session so we can learn a bit more about astrology and luck.  This puts the rising for the session, that began at 6:30pm, at 24 degrees of Sag rising.  We will keep this on ice for now and I will come back to it.

The very last hand of the night was a great opportunity to book a really nice win for me.. but I got unlucky against a poor player.  With a window card of 2 of clubs, and me holding AA38K with Ace high clubs, I raised preflop and saw the 5 of clubs added to that flop along with a red Queen.  The bad player bet the pot into me, and I raised.  Fortunately she slowed down and didn't reraise... because a 3 on the turn and a Ten on the river took a fat steaming shit on my holding.... she flopped Queens and 2s with an A7 low.. only because she showed it on the river after I folded to her half pot bet... oh well.......

I booked a $259 win for the night.

Now, I will add a few knocks I have on this card room.  It annoys me that you cant eat at the tables, but I get it somewhat.  It is obvious that the owner is pretty OCD about certain things in the procedural department, so that carries over.... They have a nice little coffee station, but they don't trust their customers to make their own coffee... which annoys me because I don't like having to bother the dealer on break to make me coffee... same goes with the water.  Your choices are, go get water out of a fucking machine, or ask the dealer to go do it.  How hard is it to have a water cooler?  I suppose part of their business model is to profit off the drinks.. so they have you pay for water..  its a major annoyance, but all together this is a nice room with good perks for members....   but I wont even get into the annoyance of membership at this club.
